2025 Captains Introduction

Prepare yourself to captain a team in the 2025 Avalon Golf League season.

On this page you should find all you need to know about how to prepare as a Captain for the upcoming 2025 Avalon Golf season.

The process is simple if you follow these simple guidelines.

1)   In order to qualify to be a team captain, you need to have a mobile phone and an email address.  A smart phone is highly recommended to enable simple method to submit results post matches.

2)   Consult the Captains Agreement and GDPR agreement pages to ensure you are happy to abide by the terms set out on each.  If you have any questions regarding them, please contact the league via email keith@avalongolf.org or phone Keith on 07751 317577

3)   Check what division you are in and contact all the other captains in that division.  Captains contact details can be found in the “Member Clubs” section.  It is a password protected area so contact Keith (as above) for this if needed.

4)   Arrange with the other captains your match dates and tee times. Ensure that you confirm the venue of each match date and both agree.

5)   Confirm with your home club the details about the course your home matches will be played on.  You will need the following-

  • Course tee colour or identifier,
  • The yardage for those tees,
  • Course slope index,
  • Course rating and par for that tee.

Please note that all Avalon matches must be played from the White tees or equivalent and no other tee colour may be substituted before or during the round.

6)   The online form to register your team fixtures and your details will be available from the beginning of December 2024.  Any team not registered before the end of January 2025 will be deemed to have withdrawn from the league and will take no further part during 2025. To return in 2026 will be as a new team starting in the lowest division.

7)   If you have all the required information, you can go to the online form by clicking the link below.  Please note that if you leave the form for any reason, it will not retain your input so far so you have to start again.  This is why it is important to have all the needed details to hand before you begin

8)   Upon completion of the form, you need to hit the submit button. You should have a reply saying your team entry has been received.  This does not mean it has been accepted yet but you should receive an email after it has been processed to confirm it is accepted.  If there are any issues, Keith will be in contact on the details you have provided as soon as possible.

9)   At this stage, all the paperwork is complete, and you can look forward to a season of enjoyable friendly competitive golf.

Finally, may I wish you good luck and if there is anything you need help with, please feel free to get in contact.
